Příjemnou atmosféru má i nedaleký Mikulov. Město je vyhledávaným turistickým cílem díky mnoha památkám: zámku, Synagoze, Dietrichštejnské hrobce, Kozímu hrádku či stavbám na Svatém kopečku. V neposlední řadě sem cestovatelé jezdí do útulných vináren a vinných sklípků.

Valtice

Valtice are proud to posses an official title “the capital city of wine”. There are so many vineyards, that together, they would cover eight hundred football stadiums. The only winery college in Czech Republic is situated there. You can take a pleasure in expositions of Saloon of Czech Republic wines and the Castle wine-vault.

When men come to Valtice at the right time, they can visit, in addition to tens of private wine cellars, a course of Sommeliers. Those, who love grapes in all form, should come when Vintage takes place. You can taste (among others) stum.

Viniculture is nothing new around Valtice. As archaeological discoveries of stone instruments demonstrate, even during the Neolithic period people took a liking in these picturesque rich valleys around river Dyje. Celtics and Romans cultivated grapevine there, so later coming Slavs gained delicious luscious grapes almost with any endeavour.

In 1858, Lichtensteins organized the first exposition of wines and half century later, the first Valtice selling wine market succeeded. The tradition is still alive, so you surely should come.

Lednice-Valtice complex

Lednice-Valtice complex lies between Valtice and Lednice, it is embraced by Palava hills and modern blocks of flats in Břeclav, lined with fields on the North and cut off by Czech-Austrian border on the South.

The House of Lichtenstein resided in Valtice and less than 10 kilometres far from there their “summer-house”, the Lednice castle, was built. To call this castle a house is a bit funny, if we consider its size.

It is impossible to fit all sightseeing into one day. Together with castles in Lednice and Valtice you should see interiors of Rendez-vous; a romantic building in shape of a Classicist arch and no less beautiful Janův hrad (Johns castle); an artificial romantic ruin of a castle. From heights of Minaret or Reistna, the Colonnade you can overlook the whole Garden of Europe.

There is also Hunting lodge standing not far from there, Pond house and Apollo temple. Obelisk Belvedere, Temple of three Graces, Aqueduct...

Well, come and enjoy them yourselves.

Břeclav

Břeclav is modern city, which will pleasure young couples rather than elderly historians. It is little bit of paradox, because Břeclav is a place of plenteous history.Modern and old meet here. For example, St.Wenceslav church (a contemporary architecture) contras St.Mary parish church (a unique Neo-Gothic construction).

The biggest attraction of Břeclav is Pohansko, not far southwards from here. It is an archaeological site from Great-Moravian times. The city museum in Břeclav set up a permanent exposition Slovenian memorial, which is placed in a castle. You can find a lot about prehistory of this archaeological area Pohansko there.

Protected landscape area Pálava

Pavlovské hills used to be one vast sea. You can find shells of underwater crustaceans preserved in Lime Mountains. The mountains are not higher than 550 metres above the sea level, but they are covered with rare alpine flora. Some species are unlikely to be found anywhere else in Czech Republic.

The most frequented part of Pálava is the highest and most beautiful one, Děvín. And also Dívčí hrady, so-called Děvičky, a proud mansion, that, during times, has changed into a romantic ruin.

Mikulov

Imagine a town as picturesque and hospitable as Valtice, add more wine cellars, wine bars and cider houses and you get Mikulov. The atmosphere of local vintage is incredible.

Mikulov is a pearl of the south Moravia. The silhouette of majestic Baroque castle, Svatý kopeček (Holly little hill) and Kozí vršek draw the attention to the city from far.

An artillery tower has ever since stand there, from where approaching enemy could be seen from afar. Nowadays only tourists appreciate the lookout.

Mikulov has always been a popular town as a history of a  local castle demonstrates. Originally a Romanic stronghold used to stand here, which was later on adapt for a Renaissance castle. In 1718, a fire disaster destroyed the castle, so everything started all over again and the results you can judge yourselves today.

We should not end up listing beauties of Mikulov without mentioning Dietrichstein tomb, Synagogue, a rose garden, St.Wenceslas churche and the others, but we do. Come and see everything yourselves. There is nothing better than your own experience.
